About Mission of Hope

Since 2015, local compassion has grown into a bold vision for connected care, practical support, and long-term resilience across rural Wisconsin.

Our philosophy

Treat the individual. Strengthen the community.

We believe that when people heal holistically, families reconnect, employers gain stronger team members, communities regain leaders, and the trajectory of lives can change for generations.

We start by helping the individual, but the impact never stops there. Healing creates a ripple effect—moving through homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and the future.

Everyone deserves more than a handout. They deserve a hand up, a place to belong, and a pathway toward stability.

Our story

Local roots. A resilient future.

Mission of Hope House of Wisconsin began serving the community as a tax-exempt nonprofit in 2015, but its roots go deeper than a filing date. Founder Lori Prahl saw the needs of people and families in New London and responded with compassion, faith, and action.

What began as a vision to serve people in any way possible grew into a homeless shelter that provided safety, dignity, and support in crisis. Leaders, staff, volunteers, and neighbors carried the mission through challenging seasons.

Today, Mission of Hope is moving from a traditional shelter model toward a more sustainable future focused on recovery support, mental health and substance use disorder needs, crisis stabilization, family-centered care, and a connected rural system of support.
